When you arrive at the airport, you should have sufficient cash in hand to cover your living expenses for the first few days till the arrival of your financial aid. A budget of around USD 2,000 to USD 5000 is recommended for each semester.
You may open a bank account after presenting the relevant documents. It is advisable to open a joint account with a family member in your home country who will deposit money into your account for you to access with a debit card. Safest way to deposit money into your account is through a debit/credit card or traveler’s check.
